Tender Buttons – Gertrude Stein

The woman encouraged and helped so many artists in Paris in the 1920’s.  I looked up her work.  What has she given the reader?  Anti-art?  Words and phrases scattered randomly on the page.  Nothing means anything?  I made a video and used an audio reading of “Tender Buttons.”  I would guess that most literate people have heard her name, and have never seen her work.  As I put the video online I hear the work over and over again.  I start to like it, at least a little.  Like a non-sense children’s rhyme.
